Gallery Wendi Norris is pleased to announce ”The Collected”, our first solo exhibition of paintings by Amir H. Fallah. The Los Angeles based artist’s work addresses a nexus of idiosyncratic topics, culling influences from personal narrative, art history, and imagined experiences alike. He has had solo exhibitions in New York, Dubai, Miami, California, and was included in the 2011 Sharjah Biennial as well as group shows at the Weatherspoon Art Museum and the University Art Museum at CSULB. For “The Collected”, Fallah draws inspiration from not only the subjects of Renaissance portraiture and vanitas paintings, but also the economic models in which those works were produced. The exhibition includes commissioned portraits as well as the artist’s wildly lush paintings of flower arrangements that complicate symbolism of the Dutch masters.
