Hueliday Hang Nguyen, mixed media on mylar, 2008
Hueliday is a group exhibition exploring the concept of color and variations of hue. Consider for a moment a gallery space filled with works of art, arranged to create a colorful, enveloping effect. The visual experience created in this exhibition will be akin to a prismatic environment spread across the gallery walls. Hueliday will feature the work of Hang Art artists and guest artists, all of whom were assigned one particular hue with which to execute their artwork. The limitations of working within one hue is causing the artists to push their own boundaries of creativity, resulting in a group of dynamic pieces that will delight and engage the viewer. We believe the holiday season is a time to reflect and celebrate and Hueliday is about recognizing the many differences a little color can make. Hueliday will be on view from November 22 through December 30. HANG ART annex is located at 567 Sutter Street, between Mason and Powell Streets. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday and Monday by appointment. For further information or high resolution images, please call 415 434 4264.
