The Unusual Suspects: A group show of individual queer artists who, brought together, create a shamefully wondrous forbidden zone, away from the increasingly normative and corporate-capitalist Pride lockstep. These activists, choreographers, filmmakers, musicians, painters, photographers and poets are suspected of satirical adspeak, occult collage magick, feminist and trash-pop icon worship, radical time travel, and acute sexiness. Adam Ansell, Seth Bogart, Katie Bush, Jaime Cortez, Veronica De Jesus, Joy Fritz, Samara Halperin, Cliff Hengst, Scott Hewicker, Colter Jacobsen, Amanda Kirkhuff, Ali Liebegott, Steven Marker, Alicia McCarthy, Jason Mecier, Matt Momchilov, Brontez Purnell, Cedar Sigo, Irwin Swirnoff, Margaret Tedesco, Skye Thorstenson, Julian Vargas, Sy Wagon, Jim Winters, Lena Wolff, and more. Curated by Johnny Ray Huston On view Friday 7 June – Sunday 30 June, 2013 Opening Sunday 9 June, 6-8pm Alley Cat Books Gallery 3036 24th Street San Francisco, CA 94114 415 824 1761 Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-8pm; Sun 10am-7pm
