Shifting the Body Artist’s Talk Shifting the Body Artist's Talk
On the last day of the show, Shifting the Body will host an artist's talk! Join the artists, curator, and Asian American Women Artists Association to discuss issues related to women and the body. It's an important topic, and we hope you'll take part in our open dialogue. Artists will be discussing their work and the ideas behind it. Statement for the exhibit: Figures, personalities and cells splitting - these are some of the visuals that materialize in Shifting the Body. The female body continues to be sexualized in media and the arts. The artwork in this show emphasizes a re-humanizing of the body, while providing an opportunity for Asian America Women to contribute to this conversation in a visual manner and to take back some control.
