RISD Northern California Alumni Biennial 2008
The Oakland Art Gallery has teamed up with the Rhode Island School of Design to celebrate its Biennial Exhibition. Exploring the full range of artistic expression, the RISD Northern California Alumni Biennial 2008 honors and celebrates the work of Rhode Island School of Design alumni. Begun in 2006 and now held every two years, the Biennial provides a prominent visual forum for RISD artists while deepening and extending our collective understanding of alumni work. The exhibition brings work out of the studio and into the public realm, demonstrating the impact of RISD graduates on the dynamic terrain of the Bay Area art and design scene. The RISD Biennial includes all RISD alumni, regardless of major or year of graduation, living and/or working in the Greater Bay Area. The exhibition will open on March 5th, 2008 and run through the 29th. There will be a preview reception on Tuesday, March 4th from 6 to 9pm. The Juror for this year's exhibition was René de Guzman the new senior curator of art at the Oakland Museum of California.
