Featuring Sacha Eckes, Lauren Davies, Kathryn Kenworth, David Hamill and Jeff Kao; Curated by Sasha Petrenko. Opening reception: Friday, January 9, 6-9pm Exhibition runs: January 7-31, 2009 Gallery Hours: Wednesdays - Saturdays, 1-6pm With marked frequency we remodel and redesign ourselves and our immediate environs to better represent how we wish others to see us. We tear down and build up repeatedly, incessantly. We make improvements to feel better, safer, more secure, to stand apart, or to belong. Our preoccupation with re-invention, remodeling, and building speaks of the innumerable plans concealed within any human heart. While the individual artists’ voices in “Plan B” range widely their work uncovers common fears and concerns. Faced with an increasingly chaotic outside world, we react by building walls, concrete and psychic to retain if only a semblance of control. But buried deep in this perpetual building process, is substratum of hope and a sort of Utopic determination to re-invent self and surroundings.
