Art and the Body Politick
Art of Democracy at The Red Door Gallery Curators: Jais Booth, Lisa Rasmussen, and Lauren Odell Usher ART and the BODY POLITICK is a provocative exhibition showcasing the discourse and revelation of artists questioning and commenting on societal reality in the 21st century. The underlying question in this visual narrative centers around how the creative visions of artists can help heal our collective body and ensure that healthy debate and diversity continue to be the hallmark of American democracy. Sometimes an infection needs to be lanced and drained before healing. The work in this exhibition does exactly that – They pierce the illusions, stimulate the political discourse, and engage us bodily in the discussion over our governance. Artists Included in this Exhibtion include: Jesus Barraza, Jais Booth, Kim Campisano, Melanie Cevantes, Guy Colwell, Kevin Evans, Heidi Forssell, Juan Fuentes, JC Garret, Annie Hall, Art Hazelwood, Doug Minkler, Claude Moller, Gary-Paul Prince, Lisa Rasmussen, Diego Marcial Rios, Favianna Rodriguez, Otto Thorson, Lauren Odell Usher, Dick Watson, Mary Webster, Gail Weismann --- DON'T MISS our First Friday Opening Event!
