Eleanor Harwood Gallery and Noise Pop present Lauren Dukoff and Friends Opening Friday, February 20th, 7-10pm For many years, Lauren Dukoff has photographed close friend and musician Devendra Banhart and an extended, loose-knit international family of artists who share inspiration variously from folk, Tropicalia, and each other, as well as a range of other musical influences. The collection of portraits and candid images from Dukoff’s forthcoming book Family (to be released by Chronicle Books Summer 2009) includes Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Entrance, Bat for Lashes, Cibelle, Vetiver, Ramblin Jack Elliott, Little Joy, and many others individually and together, in performance and more private spaces. Complementing the photographs will be artwork by musicians Banhart, Matteah Baim, (of Hecuba), Adam Tullie and more.
