Venom v. Camaro
Fivepoints Arthouse is more than excited to announce Venom v. Camaro: A Deadly Duel Between Satan’s Camaro and Ben Venom. A closing reception with surprise live music act will be held on Saturday April 25, 2009 from 7-11pm. This event is free and open to the public. Satan's Camaro is the lovechild of eighties rocker Nikki Sixx and teen pop star Tiffany. Based out of a bathroom in a Sheetz Gas Station in Hagerstown, Maryland, Satan's Camaro is committed to bringing you art that is better than now. Ben Venom is a San Francisco based, internationally exhibiting art phenom who draws on his dirty southern roots to create stunning artwork that draws on politics, racing and heavy metal. This knock down drag out assault on polite sensibilities confronts the viewer in intellectually challenging and aesthetically pleasing ways. A popular combination of stickers, prints, flags and banners, this duel reinvigorates a tired conversation about high and low culture in very satisfyingly rock and roll terms. At once cerebral and visceral the works in Venom v. Camaro combine an enticing candy color exterior to contrast seething undercurrents of deep philosophical insight. Have you ever danced with the Devil by moonlight? Come witness the spectacle and see who comes out on top!
