The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery is proud to present ON YOUR MARK, featuring prominent Bay Area artist Leslie Shows. Electric Works, a gallery, printmaking studio and renowned print publisher has generously offered their stunning gallery space to host ON YOUR MARK. This intimate, live art event will kick off with delicious small bites and cocktails generously donated by local Bay Area businesses. Do not miss your chance to meet with Leslie Shows in Electric Works’ space as you directly support the exhibition programming at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery.
Please join us for ON YOUR MARK, a unique opportunity to dine, drink and meet artist, Leslie Shows. Following an informal dialogue about her artistic practice and recent achievements, Shows will conduct printmaking demonstrations with the Electric Works’ print collaborators that will yield a limited number of prints for sale during the event.
This year’s On Your Mark is the second installment in a series of social and educational events that highlight the artistic talents of Bay Area artists; provide artists with an opportunity to realize a unique printmaking project, and give art enthusiasts insider’s access to the creative process.
All funds raised through ticket and prints sales go directly to the SFAC Gallery programming fund which supports artist honoraria and exhibition costs. Your support will allow the SFAC Gallery to continue to both support the local arts community as well as introduce the residents of San Francisco to work from artists from all over the world through exhibitions, lectures and events.
“On the outset of every printmaking project, our artists communicate their vision to us,” says Electric Works director and SFACG board member, Noah Lang. “That vision is then articualted by our printmakers and other collaborators who, more than assisting with technical expertise, use their creative insight to focus the idea and often open new avenues of possibility for the artist moving forward."

About Leslie Shows
Shows received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, and her MFA at the California College of the Arts, San Francisco. Shows was recently included in Bay Area Now 5 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. Shows work has also been exhibited at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA; Armory Show, NY; Frieze Art Fair, London, England; and Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Nova, Miami, FL. Solo Exhibitions include Jack Hanley Gallery, Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA. A 2006 recipient of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art SECA Art Award, her work was featured at SFMOMA in early 2007 and is also included in the SFMOMA permanent collection.
