Orange: Art Walk Through the Mission
Free. No reservations are necessary. Interested participants should meet at Intersection for the Arts at noon. The various installations and works that comprise this walk operate as satellites of Intersection for the Arts ongoing Prison Project. The walk spans several blocks of the Mission District neighborhood around Intersection for the Arts. Intersection for the Arts is concurrently hosting its Prison Project exhibition, and walkers are encouraged to check it out before and after. The curators of this walking art event and exhibition are the students of Julio Morales' 2007 workshop Learning to Curate an Art Show. The sites of the various installations and exhibitions that comprise the walk are housed within businesses, restaurants, and public spaces. Some of the works and installations on the walk will remain up for some weeks, integrated into the life lived and business conducted around them. Curators include: Deborah Colotti, Jenny Galipo, Teresa Geary, Sabine Gysens, Ali Mead, Kim Munson, Jessica Resmond
