Of Place and Belonging A Place That Exists But is Still Being Formed, Oil on Canvas, 48" x 48"
UNTITLED Gallery is proud to present "Of Place and Belonging," new works from Maxine Solomon. In "Of Place and Belonging" Maxine Solomon brings us a series of new abstract works. With their varied color schemes and brushstrokes, Solomon's paintings encourage us to take a step closer and consider the possibility of diverse, weathered landscapes; the thickness of paint application and the multi-layers of oil and pigment inspire the suggestion of hidden images, and the question of what lies beneath. This effect is no mistake, as Solomon's hope is to spur deeper reflection on our relationship with our physical and cultural environments. In doing so, we are inspired to dig beyond the offerings of present-day societal information by accessing the wisdom of thousands of years of accumulated knowledge. Please join UNTITLED Gallery's opening reception for "Of Place and Belonging." Food and wine will be provided by Cibo Cafe.
