GATEHOUSE GALLERY HOURS: Wednesday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Call 707-226-5991 x 25 for information about tours of the di Rosa. di Rosa is pleased to present Altered States: The Collection in Context an exhibition of artworks related to the mystical, the transcendent and the transformative. Among the many themes embedded in the di Rosa’s extensive collection, the notion of spirituality—or at least an altered state of consciousness—is discernible in the work of a number of artists. The Bay Area has long been an accommodating home to people searching for different views of reality, and its artists have often made visible those alternative views. In addition to presenting artworks from the di Rosa collection, Altered States: The Collection in Context introduces works that address the metaphysical by other contemporary Bay Area artists. Artists included in the exhibition are Lynne-Rachel Altman, Jim Campbell, Bruce Conner, Linda Conner, Lewis deSoto, Robilee Frederick, David Ireland, Keira Kotler, Thérèse Lahaie, Richard Misrach, Robert Moon, David Simpson, Travis Somerville, Elizabeth Sunday, Michele Théberge, and Darren Waterston. Altered States was curated by Chandra Cerrito, who will be leading a panel discussion with some of the exhibiting artists at di Rosa in December.
