Giant Robot is proud to present A Small # of Things, a group art show featuring new works by Scott Barry, Damien Correll, Justin Fines, Andrew Holder, and Mike Perry.
Scott Barry (a.k.a. Scott Berry, a.k.a. Bott Scary, a.k.a. Sacred Mtn.) is a designer by day, making work for the likes of Stussy, Nike, and Adidas, and a fine artist the rest of the time. His personal work channels the untamed energy of the '70s, blending the raw and graphic, crafty and cosmic, and silly and spiritual, and has shown in London, Tokyo, Copenhagen, and San Francisco.
Originally from Philadelphia, Damien Correll is a designer/illustrator/maker living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Formerly a member of the Rad Mountain collective, Correll is now a creative partner at the small design studio, Part & Parcel. His work has been featured in a variety of publications, and he is "waaay into" doing record covers, magazine illustrations, product development, filling pages in zines, and most other art projects.
Since founding the DEMO design entity in Detroit in 1997, Justin Fines has created bold, colorful graphic work for clients big and small, with projects ranging from record covers to corporate identity, T-shirts, motion design and direction, skateboards, books, and more. DEMO is headquartered on Rad Mountain at the Old American Can Factory in Brooklyn, NY.
Andrew Holder was born in Florida, grew up in San Diego, and graduated from Art Center in Pasadena with a degree in illustration. In addition to doing work for a diverse group of clients including Roxy, National Geographic, and Toronto Times, he creates fine art that endows the precision of geometric shapes and angles with a psychedelic, almost anarchic spirit.
Doodling away night and day, Perry creates new typefaces and sundry graphics that inevitably evolve into his new work, exercising the great belief that the generating of piles is the sincerest form of creative process. The Brooklyn, NY-based artist makes drawings, paintings, illustrations, magazines, newspapers, and clothing, and teaches whenever possible.
A reception for the artists will be held from 6:30 - 10:00 on Saturday, September 19
