Postcard Show 13 Kirk Stoller
The 13th Annual Small Format Art Sale postcard boxes full of treasures featuring the Museum of Pocket Art in the Front Gallery Lab Members Preview Reception: Friday, Dec 4, 2009: 5-6pm Opening Reception: Friday, Dec 4, 2009: 6-9pm Sale continues: Saturday, December 5 & Sunday, December 6: 1-6pm Free admission As The Lab celebrates our 25th year, we are pleased to announce the 13th annual Postcard Show. Everyone is invited to contribute a set of small format multiples -- whether that be a series of hand-made paintings or objects, or production run postcards. We're challenging artists to find new, exciting ways to use the postcard theme, and then from December 4 through 6, we're opening our gallery as a cabinet of curiosities, inviting viewers and buyers to experience the richness of the local arts community. We believe that collecting engaging, high-quality, beautiful artwork should be accessible to everyone. Friday's opening reception will include short sets by local DJs Deena Davenport, Jellyroll Chicken, Sadie Shaw, Jessica Beard, and Tamera Ferro. The continued sale on Saturday and Sunday features live performances by Mike Musica, Friends and Family, and Crockett & Sandra. The Museum of Pocket Art will also have a presence at this year's show, with a special exhibition of their small work in the Front Gallery. The Lab will offer free food and affordable drinks to complement the festive atmosphere. Fixed-price work will be available for $1 to $50 (cash, checks, VISA or MasterCard accepted).
