Thomas Callahan is an artist from Brooklyn NY whose work explores cultural iconography. On view in our main gallery are a number of media based works that incorporate video and structure to create aspects of the California experience. His installations are results of an interest in the conceptual content of video, what it represents, and its ability to preserve people and re-create space; as well as driven by the artist’s other fascination with materials and structural engineering. Callahan’s hope is to push the usage of video further in his practice as he explores its nature of containment, preservation and cultural commentary. He has shown extensively both in the United States and in Italy
