“In these pictures, the bodies contain and activate tales. Their sculptural formations are akin to dance.”
Born in Montreal, raised in Florida, Suné Woods currently lives in San Francisco. She is a multidisciplinary artist whose work includes photography, collage, and video, and uses the body as a site to think about histories passed on, forgotten, or imagined. Woods has exhibited her work nationally at the Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Lowe Art Museum in Florida; the African-American Museum in Hempstead, New York; School of the International Center of Photography; The Time-Life Building, New York; and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.
