Endangered Species
Opening Reception: Wednesday, January 30, 5:30 - 7:30 PM Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce Endangered Species, a solo exhibition for Patrick Dintino. Composed of broad, blended bands of color, the diffused lines in Dintino’s “spectrum paintings” produce a plethora of eye-catching tones and hues. This latest series of work is based on endangered species, to bring awareness to the impact of human forces on natural resources, but to also celebrate the rich diversity of life as represented by unique flora and fauna. Each species' colorful blends radiate specific signatures that are to be regarded as treasures of evolution. The four by eight foot painting Florida Panther glistens with golden fur while reflecting lush grasslands in its penetrating eyes. In the larger Coral Reef the exotic color combinations pulsate with iridescent sea life as refracted by hues of the deep. By sampling the color and light of the subject in its natural habitat the paintings translate subtleties of each distinct species.
