And Suddenly This
Opening June 5th, 7-10pm Chase uses beautifully intricate gouache and pen to to make gentle calamities on paper. His images are beautifully rendered but also leave much to the imagination -- what happened the instant before the rendered image? Please stop by the gallery to get a good look at the paintings... we will be posting images soon and will send out another email. Chase was born 1987 in San Francisco, California, lives and works in Baltimore MD. Artist Statement: We often view the world in a state of ordinariness. Through painting, I can add magic and mystery to seemingly mundane moments. As in chemistry, when two ordinary things are combined in a certain way, something completely new can emerge. It is important to restrain from giving too much information in a painting, in order to leave room for viewers to find their own meaning.
