Post Meridiem Post Meridiem opens Friday, June 11, 5-9pm at Canessa GallePr
Opening Friday June 11, 2010, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. On Friday, June 11th you are invited to join us for the opening of Cat U-Thasoonthorn’s first solo exhibition featuring her recent body of mixed media neon, silkscreen, and photographic works “Post Meridiem.” “Post Meridiem” is an exploration into incandescent lighting’s ability to transform the shape, meaning, and mood of the mundane in low light settings. U-Thasoonthorn translates her night photography into large-scale silkscreen prints and reintroduces light to the work through the application of neon. A mixed media artist, U-Thasoonthorn is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at San Francisco Art Institute. Her work can be viewed online: http://www.catuthasoonthorn.com Gallery Director, Zachary Stewart Canessa is a 501c3 non-profit art space located in the historic Canessa Printing Company bldg. on Jackson Square adjacent to the Transamerica Pyramid.
