How I used to see - Ruins of DetroitPost an Event »

Opening Friday August 13, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. On Friday, June 13th you are invited to join us for the opening of “how I used to see - Ruins of Detroit,” a solo exhibition featuring Joshua Band’s recent body of photographic works. “how I used to see - Ruins of Detroit” explores abandoned spaces that have been left in the wake of shrinking American industrialization. As the rust belt fades, hulking factories, office buildings, and houses become empty and these abandoned places populate the Detroit urban landscape. In capturing these spaces, Band's work seeks to evoke a sense of memory, history, hope, and dreams. Band recently relocated to San Francisco where he is pursuing his Master of Fine Arts at The San Francisco Art Institute and was recently awarded the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute Graduate Fellowship.
