Then and Now
HANG ART is pleased to announce Then and Now, a group show celebrating the gallery's tenth anniversary. Then and Now will feature works from HANG ART alumni Anna Conti, David Ivan Clark, Andrew Hotis, Marianne Kolb, Saundra McPherson, Kevin Moore, Catherine Ryan, Michael Shemchuk, Bob Stang, and Joel Tarbox. The anniversary celebration and a reception for the artists will be held on First Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 6-8pm at 556 Sutter St, San Francisco. HANG ART was founded in 1998 with a mission to introduce emerging artists from the Bay Area. Throughout the last decade, the gallery has helped to launch the careers of many talented artists, with an eye toward ever more innovative programming; we hope to continue the trend for years to come. Along the way, HANG ART has also introduced countless people to the joys of collecting art by offering accessible pricing and a welcoming atmosphere. For our tenth anniversary exhibition, we are celebrating by inviting HANG ART alumni to return to the gallery for a special group show. Alongside works by our nine alumni artists, we will feature new paintings and sculpture from our stable of 60 artists throughout the gallery space. In addition to celebrating our history, our anniversary is a time to look ahead toward a future of increased involvement in the San Francisco arts community, exciting exhibitions, and promoting more great local artists.
