The Bonnafont Gallery in conjunction with ZYZZYVA magazine presents an exhibition of the photographs of Dennis Letbetter. An opening reception with the artist will take place Thursday 14 October from 6 to 8 pm. Thereafter the gallery will be open weekend afternoons 2 to 5 pm or by appointment (415.431.7546).
The Fall 2010 issue of ZYZZYVA has published 25 of Letbetter’s portraits of Bay Area culturati using black and white film in an 8 x 10 inch camera. Some of the subjects in the exhibition include such acknowledged luminaries as Peter Selz, Rondal Partridge, Jack Hirschman, Maestro Donald Runnicles, Leo Holub, Rebecca Solnit, George Kuchar, Bill Berkson, Herbert Gold, Robert Flynn Johnson, Nathan Oliveira, Stephen de Staebler, Andrew Hoyem, Gay Outlaw, William Winant, Nathaniel
Dorsky, Jack W. Stauffacher, Naomie Kremer, Judy Dater, Norma Cole, Mason Bates, Fritz Rauh, Etel Adnan, Jack W. Stauffacher, Charles Amirkhanian, William Winant, to name but a few. It is a compelling collection of portraits of the most creative artists.
