A group exhibition curated by dean of graduate studies at SFAI, Claire Daigle, this show offers a cross-cultural, interdisciplinary examination of color in a variety of media. Key areas of inquiry will include: Where does the balance of engagement with color fall between the purely subjective and the culturally constructed? What values and objectives (cultural, political, and emotional) have been placed on color and how do these investments shift with cultural context? We tend to think of color as primarily experiential; to what degree of specifity can we begin to verbalize and express our experiences?
