15 Minutes showcases the constructed relationship between public figures, and their audiences, as interpreted by nine artists working in painting, drawing, photography and video. The show is about the age of social media where anyone can make themselves a brand for consumption through blogs, facebook, myspace, and youtube—at the same time that the Celebrity is floating back down to earth. This show is about the changing nature of the once untouchable Hollywood personae and the dynamic of intimacy we feel with people we've never met. This show will be about depictions of the fall of the famous, the aspirations of the almost famous, and the notion of 15 Minutes that is has become elastic, stretching proportionate to the number of page views, posts and comments one contributes to the public sphere. Includes the artwork of Ben Carder, Carol Riot Kane, Claudia Hennum, Greg Wilson, Hannah Ireland, Kyle Mock, Matthew Gottschalk, Rachel Kaye, Takehito Etani. Curated by Alison OK Frost and Kevin Clarke. Opening Reception April 1, 7-10 PM. Additional gallery hours Sunday 1-5 PM.
