Bay Area Artists For Japan: Exhibition and Art Sales Event
Reception: Thursday, April 28, 5:00 pm. – 8:00 pm. Gallery Hours: Friday, April 29 & Saturday, April 30,11:00am -5:00 pm. Participating Artists: Tor Archer, Donna Brookman, Paz de la Calzada, Kevin Chen, Linda Connor, Terry Furry, Mayumi Hamanaka, Taro Hattori, Justin Hoover, Suzanne Husky, Randy Hussong, Hiroyo Kaneko, Takashi Kawashima, Samantha Lautman, Apollonia Morrill, Laura Paulini, Mitzi Pederson, Yasutoshi Sakamoto, Asako Shimazaki, Stephanie Syjuco, Seiko Tachibana, Luther Thie, Marina Vendrell, Andrea Voinot, Catherine Wagner, James Welling, Kathrine Worel, and more. Days of suffering for Japan started suddenly on March 11, 2011. We urge your participation in Bay Area Artists for Japan, a relief effort to aid victims of the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean earthquake in Japan. Through this benefit event that starts on April 28, 2011, we sell artworks generously donated from artists in Bay Area and give 100% of sales to Japan Red Cross Society. We believe one of the roles of an art community during the time following a tragic event is to to use art to help those who are suffering. Our community effort for relief will be a small but significant contribution to those communities in Japan which now face a great trial for survival.
