One Off - Monotype prints by Bay Area Artists Hamel detail
“ONE OFF” features the monotype prints of four local Bay Area artists. Frequently referred to as the most “painterly” of the printmaking processes, monotype often focuses on the qualities of ink and color. This pop-up exhibition (only up for one day on Saturday, June 18th) was conceived as a compliment to the June exhibition in the main gallery: “FLOW: The Essence of Paint”. Where “FLOW” celebrates the quality of paint as a medium, “ONE OFF” celebrates form and color in ways that uniquely reflect both the strengths and the constraints of the monotype medium. “ONE OFF” artists include: Richard Bolingbroke, Marc Ellen Hamel, Ellen Markoff and Patricia Rodriguez.
