Opening July 7th, 5:30 - 7:30pm Buck continues his sensory exploration of color and texture with twelve new gestural abstract paintings. The works were conceived in Mexico, and as a departure from his previous series, his process reflects a textural and sensual expressionism. Reduced to the most elemental aspects of perception, these paintings conjure both the infinite and the sublime. In this exhibition, he applies enamel on burlap to create vibrant and iridescent expanses of color. The result of Buck’s meditation on color and material is a visual field nuanced by form and shape, in which the painterly process is made apparent and integral to the work.
