For BAN6, Sollars presents Hairy, an installation that utilizes the artist’s own hair as a starting point in order to address issues related to history, cultural identity, and memory, with historical reference to practices of the 19th century in which locks of hair were kept to memorialize loved ones. Join Sollars in conversation with Jennifer A. González, associate professor of History of Art and Visual Culture at U.C. Santa Cruz, as they discuss the cultural and artistic issues of hair.
