Addie Shevlin’s paintings are created through an intuitive, highly physical process and a rigorous exploration of color. Shevlin relies on her brush, brayer, hands, and emotion to lead the development of her artworks. For Colorfields, Colored Skies, the artist has turned her focus toward a study on the relationship between color and mood. This results in a body of work that appears calm and meditative yet broils with the tension of an action painting beneath the surface.
