In A Brief Sign, three artists were given the opportunity to exhibit new bodies of work, but reflecting the last minute nature of this exhibition, they were asked to produce the work in the time between being invited and the show. They will be pursuing lines of thought concurrent with their practice but the materials presented will be entirely fresh.
This is one night only, an opportunity for a very focused look at three artists who work in distinctly different manners but whose work shares certain affinities. They share a tendency towards the distillation or translation of specific physical objects and methodologies into new surprising forms. A shadow of doubt is cast upon the substance of the source, its identity shifted via processes of encoding, mediation, and/or reconstruction. The three artists present a moment to pause in an absurd space of echo and shadow versions.
