Sharing a Vision: The Colby College Museum of Art and Crown Point Press
Reception: 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011 Crown Point Press is pleased to announce a dynamic group exhibition of paintings and works of sculpture by eight artists from the collection of the Colby College Museum of Art paired with etchings made by the same artists at Crown Point Press. The Sharing a Vision exhibition focuses on artists whose primary work is painting or sculpture, but who also used printmaking techniques for the creation of new art ideas. The artists' dedication to these ideas have significantly contributed to the genres of abstract, conceptual, feminist, landscape and minimal art. Included in the exhibition are works by Robert Bechtle, Rackstraw Downes, Jane Freilicher, Yvonne Jacquette, Alex Katz, Sherrie Levine, Sol LeWitt, and Kiki Smith.
