Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at http://www.headlands.org/event/jeremy-novak-live/ Through a process of intensively edited found-sound audio assemblage, Jeremy Novak (AIR ’12) has a distinctive, multi-pronged approach to making music. Instigator of the cult musical project Dymaxion, Novak’s live performances are characterized by evocative and propulsive stylings. Within the atmospheric setting of Headlands’ Building 961, a former military warehouse, Novak will perform new and recent work, including experiments in sound devised during his residency at Headlands. Joining him will be Dymaxion drummer Jim Abramson and other musical guests. The performance at Headlands marks a return of sorts for New York resident Novak, who after a five year hiatus is re-embracing his musical legacy and career with two upcoming two-years-in-the-making collaborations with Tim Gane of Stereolab in his Berlin-based studio, as well as a separate project with Deerhoof guitarist John Deiterich.
