April 27, 2012, 5:30 -6:30 p.m.: Reception 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: “Tom Marioni Speaks off the Top of His Head” Crown Point Press continues a celebration of our 50th year with a two-person exhibition featuring new etchings by New York painter Pat Steir and San Francisco conceptual artist Tom Marioni. Both artists use active movements of the body to create their work, and the images are enlivened by the residual energy of each artist’s art making process. Both Steir and Marioni have been making prints at Crown Point for nearly four decades and the show features their new editions and also their etchings and woodcuts from previous years.
