Odyssey: An art exhibition of new artwork, sculptures and installations by Gavin Grant
Odyssey: a long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes of fortune: an intellectual or spiritual wandering or quest.
"Odyssey" Grant's first solo show at Betti Ono Gallery is the evidence of a journey and quest to move off the canvas and create works in the third dimension. Grant's sculptural direction is one that includes assemblage pieces made of wood, brass, resin and found materials, arabesque shapes that shift and flow, and ambitious installations that reflect the artists training as an industrial designer, bridging beauty, form and function. Original pieces, prototypes, models and drawings shedding light on the artists process and methods are all on view.
"Odyssey" opens to the public on first Friday May 4, from 6-9pm at Betti Ono Gallery.
