SFMOMA’s Stage Presence Performance Series: My Barbarian

My Barbarian: Broke People's Baroque Peoples' Theater Malik Gaines, artist Jade Gordon, artist Alexandro Segade, artist San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Fourth-floor performance gallery My Barbarian animates theatrical styles from Baroque spectacle to camp drag to riff on the absurdities of the American financial crisis. In a performance of wastefulness, trashiness, and class warfare, the characters confront their internal conflicts over patronage, money, artistic quality, and other myths. Space is limited; advance tickets required. $18 general; $13 seniors; $11 students; free for SFMOMA members. Ticket includes same-day museum admission. There will be three performances: Thursday, August 16, 2012, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19, 2012, 3:00 p.m.
