The Royal NoneSuch Gallery will host three artists this summer during ‘3 for 3: Three Summer Residencies at RNG’. Our August artist-in-residence is Amanda Curreri who will be at the gallery from August 11th through September 7th. During the residency, Amanda will use the space as a public incubator for her current series of work titled, 'Aunque'. One of the core themes of the work in Aunque is subjective violence. This work will begin with an attempt to present conflict and engender conversations about reflection, instigation, desire, and healing. There will be leather. There will be weaving. Color. Black vs Yellow. And then purple walks in. Some denim too. Power plays of bravado and tenderness. Using varied approaches throughout the month, Amanda will present a changing studio installation to test ideas and gather public feedback on the themes in the work. As her studio process is more introverted than the constructed gallery presentations, she will work to join the performative with the meditative and end up in new territory.
