Opening Saturday, September 8, 3 to 6 pm
I'm interested in making technology-driven art because it speaks to the rational part of my brain - it feels good to be in control of certain variables living a chaotic life. Technology is all around us anyway, and is only becoming more psycho-dominant. - Jordan Tull, August 2012
littlebigspace is pleased to present the work of Portland-based artist Jordan Tull, with an opening reception Saturday, September 8, from 3 to 6 pm.
Tull combines the unpredictability of human intuition with algorithmic, computer-generated modeling to create unique, site-specific installations focused on interior architecture. Whether utilizing subtle visual cues, or aggressive shapes and exuberant color, his work animates space. His littlebigspace installation will combine drawing, painting, large format printing, and 3D fabrication.
Tull’s work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally at venues such as PDX Contemporary Art and the Center for Architecture, AIA (forthcoming) in Portland, OR; Jayne Gallery in Kansas City, MO; and Beers.Lambert Contemporary Art in London. He holds a BFA in sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute and is recipient of a Regional Arts and Culture Council Professional Development Grant (2012), which is supporting the llittlebigspace exhibition.
littlebigspace is an alternative space for the visual arts in Albany, California, which features work by artists from various locales.
