The San Jose Museum of Art will celebrate the opening of its new exhibition Dive Deep: Eric Fischl and the Process of Painting with a lecture and reception on Thursday, October 25. The evening will begin at 7 PM with a talk by Eric Fischl, in conversation with Lynn Federle Orr, curator in charge of European art at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Fischl and Orr will discuss the painter’s creative process and his fascination with historical artists such as Edgar Degas and Pierre Bonnard. An opening reception will follow from 8-9:30 PM. Doors to the lecture will open at 6:30 PM. Tickets to the lecture and reception are $10 ($6 for members). Members not attending the lecture may attend the reception free of charge.
