Brusha Brusha Brusha! New Paintings by Sea Lions Curated by Sophia and Lowell Darling 2 November – 8 December 2012 “To curate animal paintings hints at comparisons with, and satire toward, human painting with a capital P. However, when an animal produces beautiful brush strokes, their relationship to human art grows…. It’s all in the gesture and the lack of pretension. That’s what gives these paintings their appeal. They are beautiful, light, and fresh: fresh being the key for judging all art, no matter who makes it or when.” - Lowell Darling Aggregate Space is pleased to present this unique show of small format paintings by sea lions under the direction of SLEWTHS (Science Learning and Exploration With The Help of Sea Lions) and Dr. Jenifer Zeligs.
