100 Acts of Sewing dress 91
100 Acts of Sewing is an exhibit of fiber artist Sonya Philip's year-long project. What began as a personal challenge to sew one hundred dresses in a year, has evolved into a deeper exploration of making versus manufacturing. The dresses, made between January and December of 2012, will be on display at the Kala Artist Project Space in Berkeley. 100 Acts of Sewing encourages people to thing about clothing, specifically about the time and skill involved. 100 Acts of Sewing by Sonya Philip December 5th through December 17th, 2012 Artist Reception, December 13th, 6:00pm–8:00pm Kala Artist Project Space, 2990 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley hours: Tuesday through Friday, 12:00pm–5:30pm and Saturday, 12:00pm-4:30pm
