Electric Light A Necessary Ruin, 2012, acrylic on canvas, 50" x 60"
Robert Minervini “Electric Light” Opening Reception: Sunday, December 2, 2012, 6:00-8:00pm The word Utopia, originating from the literal Greek meaning "non place," suggests that perfection can only exist in the realm of imagination. Minervini’s work presents invented spaces that are based on reality, but revel in artificiality. In these desolate dreamlike non-places, constructed realities allude to the making of utopian and dystopian environments. Show runs December 2, 2012 – January 13, 2013 Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 1-5pm and by appointment Z Space 450 Florida Street San Francisco, CA 94110
