Artificial Landscapes Postcard
The SMAart Gallery & Studio is pleased to announce its January exhibition, Artificial Landscapes Inspired by the juxtaposition of the natural and industrial landscape of the Pacific Coast, Jenn Brazelton, Tomoko Nakazato & Tiffany Schmierer use their ceramic sculpture as a vehicles for discovery and interpretation of the multifaceted environments that surround them. "We observe and filter the complexity and contradictions that living in an artificial landscape present. What many times appears to be natural is manufactured. What appears to be chaotic is ordered. The blurred edge between nature and industry, plants and architecture, man and animal, is our muse. By looking for links between these systems we uncover new ways of seeing our landscape and how we are shaped by it". Artists: Jenn Brazelton, Tomoko Nakazato & Tiffany Schmierer.
