Pow Martinez, We Come In Peace, 2015 Oil on canvas 71 7/10 × 96 1/10 in 182 × 244 cm
Random Parts is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by the Manila based multi-disciplinary artist, Pow Martinez. The exhibition, Advanced Human, opens May 14th, 2016 from 6 to 9pm with performance staring at 8:30pm. The exhibition runs till June 11th, 2016. Martinez creates multi-media sound installations as well as expressionistic paintings. He often paints figures in a fetishistically naïve style exploring the terrain of man’s inhumanity to man and primitive mythologies in a hard-hitting and overtly humorous way. His music and sound installations reflect the same obsession with the outrageous as his music comes from the tradition of the avant-garde. He uses elements such as cacophony, dissonance, atonality, noise, indeterminacy and repetition in their realization.
