Alex Katz (born Brooklyn, N.Y., 1927) is an internationally acclaimed American artist whose work has been the subject of more than 200 solo exhibitions and nearly 500 group exhibitions since 1951. Considered one of the most influential artists of his generation, Katz is well-known for his large-scale portraits and landscapes, both of which are represented in the exhibition at Meyerovich Gallery. These new, captivating and colorful artworks featured at Meyerovich Gallery include large floral White Roses (43 x 86 in) and vibrant blues and black Reflections (58 x 58 in). By enveloping the viewer in nature with bold vibrant colors these works truly define Katz’s style. The exhibition also includes six unforgettable black and white etchings Six Portraits (30 x 34 in each). As well as three distinctive women: Vivien, Sara and Sophie (39 x 41 in each) bright yet seductively elegant, large portraits.
