Anoka Faruqee creates psychedelic, optical paintings that engage the limits and sensory subjectivity of visual perception. Her illusory and hypnotic works fuse intricate patterns with charged juxtapositions of color to create moire patterns and other visual effects. The paintings prompt the viewer to engage the chromatic and experiential properties of paint.
