We invite you to join the Board of the David Brower Center and Art/Act Host Committee for an exclusive reception honoring Edward Burtynsky on the occasion of his Art/Act Award and Exhibition. In the tradition of the Art of Advocacy, we gather to present the Art/Act award to a master photographer who "teaches us to see," building awareness and engagement about the impact of industry on the natural world. Burtynsky's work calls upon us to see more deeply and more broadly, and we invite our community to celebrate this singular insight. Both Burtynsky as well as honored guest Malcolm Margolin will speak, addressing the intersections of beauty and activism, and the way in which Burtynsky's work illuminates the complexities of modern production and consumption. Hors d’oeurves and beverages will be served; cocktail attire requested. All proceeds support the Brower Center’s acclaimed art exhibitions and community programs.
