Bodily Engagements brings performance and visual art practices into relationship through four dynamic, two-week long projects organized by a talented selection of Bay Area artists and performers. The series is designed to engage audiences in immersive experiences that are at once visual, temporal, and spatial, highlighting a sense of the body through performance and performative elements of the work presented. Organizers include Abby Crain, Lisa Rybovich Crallé, Brontez Purnell, Sophia Wang, Lauren McKeon and Renee Rhodes. Approaches to their respective projects are as engaging as they are varied, resulting in a diverse and exciting program.
