This fall and winter a large, lolling sculpture will take residence at the SFAC Galleries Window Installation Site at 155 Grove Street. Oakland-based artist Stephanie Robison’s Cloud Construction is a massive white textile sculpture that spans the exhibition space and mimics the fog that rolls down the hills into nearby Hayes Valley. In her first major exhibition in San Francisco, Robison will create a playful and surprising installation, responding to the unique microclimates of the region. Cloud Construction features a white plastic fabric that takes over the gallery, crawling in and around wooden scaffold-like structures. The form suggests volume while also being porous and malleable.
