Collective Stories: Small Works by Gallery Artists

First Friday Reception: Jan 2 6-9pm

This holiday-season show of small works by artist-run Mercury 20 Gallery highlights the individual biographies and stories of its artists and offers a view into a collective body of work that interacts, communicates and connects. Mercury 20 Gallery artists have come together to create one of the liveliest art spaces in the Oakland Art Murmur scene, and this annual show demonstrates the diversity of their stories, perspectives and media.

The public is invited to the opening reception from 6-8pm Thursday Dec. 18. Refreshments will be served as you survey the abundance of small works. This show is designed to present local, affordable art so you can shop for a perfect gift for your list or for yourself. This evening is a “Third Thursday on 25th" event, where other shops, galleries, and cafés in the area stay open late for a festive street atmosphere. Music by Bistro Moustache.

A piece of art embodies the creative spirit. It is inspirational and it resonates through the community. It is a gift. In the spirit of the season, Mercury 20 Gallery will be raffling off work by East Bay artists Julie Alvarado, Joanna Salska, Fernando Reyes and Eric Bohr. Everyone who attends the exhibit will receive one free raffle ticket and people who purchase work will receive 5 raffle tickets. Come by during the run of the show to get your free chance to win a beautiful, original piece of art.
